  3. Activation of Card. To ensure that the charity you select receives the donations your purchases generate, you must activate your card. IMPORTANT: ACTIVATION TAKES ONLY 30 SECONDS. It is cardholder’s responsibility to check to see if their card has been activated and if the correct charity has been selected. Failure to do so means that the charity will not receive its contribution. Donation contributions will not be made retroactive to previous calendar quarters. Donations generated by cardholders who have not selected a charity will be used to promote Checkers, the Lawrence Originals™ restaurants and/or any of the Lawrence GiveBack Card program card printing, data entry and administrative costs.
  4. Card Validity. This card is not valid, or combinable with, any other Checkers or participating restaurants promotions, discounts or special offers. This may include the Lawrence ‘script’ program and the Lawrence Dining Card. The card is not valid for take-out orders, catering purchases and may not be valid during generally recognized holidays or special event days. Some participating restaurants may limit reward point to a maximum of 100 points per cardholder per visit.
  5. Program Changes. This program and/or Terms and Conditions may be changed retroactively to the introduction date of the card or discontinued without notification to cardholders.
  6. Privacy. Our e-mail policy is quite simple: your e-mail address will never be sold or shared with any other person or entity. Period!
  7. Monthly statements. Unless advised otherwise, we will send you a monthly e-mail statement as to rebates earned, donations generated by cardholder’s purchases and monthly special offers that may be available from participating businesses. Cardholders may unsubscribe to further e-mails by simply checking the appropriate box.
  8. Account Balances. Cardholder may access www.lawrencegiveback.com to check on rebates earned or donations generated by cardholder for his/her chosen charitable organization.
  9. Payment of Charitable Contributions. Per the computer transaction reports provided by the Lawrence Give Back Card program’s third party IT vendor, Profit Point, each participating business will remit to the Lawrence Give Back Card program the charitable contribution it has committed to. Checks will be sent the month following each calendar quarter.
  10. Charity Listings. For charities listed on the 'other charities' drop down menu, they may maintain their listing if they have a minimum of 50 active cardholders and total donation revenue of at least $500 generated through 12/31/09. Charities below those minimums will have their website listing removed and will no longer be able to add new cardholder donors. They will, however, continue to receive donations generated by cardholders that have selected their charity.
  11. Program Disputes. Since this program is designed to help local Lawrence charities raise money through the best efforts of those parties participating in this program, cardholder agrees to hold harmless and not bring any legal action, arbitration or mediation claim against the charitable organizations, participating vendors and promotional company[ies] involved with this community effort.
  12. Tax Effect of Donation. Since the participating vendors are making the charitable contribution, cardholder is not entitled to a tax deduction for purchases that generate donations to charity.
  13. Unqualified charitable donations. Any donations to a charity selected in the 'Other' column that does not qualify as a 501 [c] [3] organization, serving Lawrence only, will be shared proportionately with all other charities selected. These funds will be shared as a proportion of donations generated for each charity to the total donations generated for all charities.
